From one dimension to infinite possibilities​

First Dimension Foundation (FDF) supports the creation, development, and dissemination of bold interdisciplinary art. Founded by composer and artist Philippe Treuille, FDF champions projects that explore the borderlands between sound, image, ritual, and narrative, works that expand our sense of perception and invite audiences into immersive artistic experiences.

 

The Foundation’s name reflects a core belief:art begins in the first dimension, time, and from there unfolds into shape, color, movement, story, and community. FDF exists to nurture this unfolding, giving artists the resources and collaborative structure they need to bring ambitious, multilayered projects into the world.

 

Our Mission is to support visionary artistic work that bridges disciplines, deepens emotional experience, and offers new ways of understanding the world. We believe in art as a site of transformation, personal, communal, and cultural, and in empowering artists whose work challenges boundaries and expands imagination.

 

FDF commissions composers, filmmakers, animators, and interdisciplinary creators whose work pushes beyond traditional forms. We provide artistic support, production resources, and long-term development. We invest in professional recordings, films, animations, and multimedia collaborations that allow new works to reach global audiences and live beyond the performance space. Through listening parties, installations, screenings, and community partnerships, we create encounters where audiences can inhabit art, not just observe it. FDF fosters collaborations across continents and disciplines, connecting artists, performers, technologists, and educators to realize projects of uncommon scale and sensitivity.

 

Out vision is to build a home for art that is expansive, emotionally resonant, and deeply human, art that moves through dimensions and invites us to do the same.

 

First Dimension Foundation is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization. Contributions for the charitable purposes of First Dimension Foundation must be made payable to “Fractured Atlas” and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
