The Codex is a collaborative work of music, poetry, and image that weaves together ancient Mixtec codices with modern physics, imagining a script of symbols embedded in a field deep beneath the atoms and molecules that make up the visible world. Developed in collaboration with Indigenous Mexican poets and visual artists, the project touches on the importance of ancient history in everything we breathe, and on the roots of what it means to live and create in the Americas.
